I made it! All the way through the first trimester. Well technically that mark comes in a day or two (I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow) but I better blog now while I have time to and actually remember the thoughts in my head! I thought this would be a good time to update everyone on my pregnancy....things have been going good for the most part. I haven't (and hope I don't) had a lick of morning sickness. Very few food aversions. I crave stuff a lot, but I did that not pregnant...right now I want Shock Tarts...I haven't had them since high school and they sound yummy for some reason.
I have had some other troubles going on, semi-pregnancy related. It seems like I might have developed a gall bladder problem. I spent about a week and a half having "attacks" of the worst pain of my life. I'm talking double over, throwing up, walking the halls (because lying down and sitting makes it worse) bawling and begging God to make it stop. Tylenol, the pregnancy safe pain reliever, had no effect. And they usually occurred only at night, making for a VERY tired pregnant lady. Thanks to some faithful prayer warriors the pain stopped. I did have a gall bladder ultrasound yesterday, I still don't know the official results, the radiologist had to "read" them. The techs were muttering something about "sludge" and "some small stones". Not sure what that all means, doesn't sound overly great to me. The doctor said if it is my gall bladder there is possibility of surgery, which worries me since I'm a big baby and worried about my baby. But I'm trying not to stress about it. God gave me this little one and He'll take care of him/her and me. This is my miracle baby, the child I thought I'd never have.
Even with a mommy in pain, baby seemed to be doing fine. Last week his/her heartbeat was 186bpm and s/he was jumping around in there like a Mexican Jumping Bean. I still haven't felt it, can't wait for that moment! Still in my regular clothes, though the "fat pants" are not as loose as they used to be! Pajama pants are my friend after 5 and on the weekends. I do feel like I've been doing a ton of situps! And if I press in just the right spot things feel "different."
This has been an amazing experience so far and its only getting better. Can't wait to enjoy two more trimesters then get to hold my little one. I do probably need to get busy on the baby's room, I have so much to do! I cant wait to find out what we are having. We have our names picked for boy or girl. Unless we change our minds that is! But we are pretty set on Isaac Terry or Elizabeth Ann.
